■I Hope...(Nov 21, 2004) Another book I bought is 「UDA式30音練習帳」. I started the training yesterday. It
wasn’t boring at all. It was, rather, enjoyable! I found lots of new things
about how to pronounce! As I was absorbed in the training, I have muscular pain
in my face… Although my youngest daughter hasn’t accepted my offer to do it
together, she has been already involved in it. She often repeated after
me!
Actually, I have 「30音でマスターする英語」and tried to do the training four
years ago. Thanks to the book, my pronunciation of consonants was getting much
better. However, as for vowels, it was too complicated for me to get the point.
As it seems that I get used to English sounds more than then, I expect that I’ll
be able to get the point this time.
■Practice makes perfect! (Nov 8, 2004) I finished the first trial of 「UDA式30音練習帳」. As the explanations of how to
pronounce each vowel and consonant are lucid, I got some tips.
What's
more, the last five day's lessons, which mentioned how to resonate our voice or
intonation, were really useful. When I began "speed training," which required us
to recite a relatively long sentence in three seconds with right intonation,
stress and vowels’ pronunciation, my oldest daughter said to me, "You can't do
such a thing." I couldn't help agreeing with her, but after several minutes, I
became able to recite it much better. I said to her a bit proudly, "Practice
makes perfect, you know?" Now, I enjoy trying to recite various sentences like
that.
